Peanut Butter and Banana Smoothie

Peanut Butter and Banana Smoothie
Peanut butter and bananas are a match made in food heaven – whether you enjoy it on a sandwich or in a smoothie!
I prepare this smoothie for my kids for a snack or a breakfast drink and it’s definitely a savior when my 8 year old is not in the mood to eat! If you are a mom, I am sure you can relate to my pain….and have also experienced those “I am not hungry!!” (for food) moments! Doesn’t that drive you completely nuts?
So….when they (the cute little Munsters in your life) drive you nuts, make this smoothie and they’ll go bananas!! ……Get it? I couldn’t resist! [and yes I know that’s “corny”….btw do people still use that word?]
This smoothie is also great (and healthy) for mummies, daddies….those buff, tuff & ruff guys who spend hours at the gym….and those of us who have never seen the inside of one….and everyone else..
When the weather warms up, you could certainly peel, slice and freeze the banana ahead of time for an even colder thirst quenching and delightful smoothie experience. If you have no issues with dairy, replace the water with milk for a creamier result.
Check the Label Health Tip: When buying peanut butter, look for a product that contains only peanuts and no high fructose corn syrup or partially hydrogenated oils or any additives and preservatives. I was happy to find organic peanut butter in my supermarket! Now I don’t have to take two trains to the nearest natural food market to get this! [Everything else but not this..yay me..]
Nutrition: Bananas are a good source of potassium, Vitamins B6 & C and fiber. Peanut Butter also has fiber, protein, calcium and Vitamin E.
For the even more health conscious folks, peanut butter can be replaced with almond butter..
