Chenet is the fruit of Melicoccus bijugatus tropical American tree with small fragrant, greenish-white flowers. The fruit comes in small bunches with a green leathery skin, a large round seed with a juicy pinkish pulp.
Also known as Genip, Quenepe, Mamon, Spanish lime and Guinep.
It is eaten as is or used to make chenet chow. A snack made with hot pepper, garlic, salt and bandhania.
