Cajun seasoning is a flavorful spice blend used in southern inspired recipes. In my homemade cajun seasoning blend I added paprika, garlic, onion, old bay, parsley, oregano, chili powder, celery salt, black pepper and Himalayan salt. All my favorite herbs and spices in one recipe!
In my recent video for cajun shrimp and chicken pasta, I made this cajun seasoning blend to make seasoning the dish easier. I added 1 tbs in the shrimp, 1 tsp in the chicken and about 2 tbs while cooking. You can easily double or triple this recipe and store for later use.
I also used this Cajun spice blend to season the remainder of the boneless chicken thighs which we cooked until golden brown in a non stick pan. It was excellent with rice and we also added it to a quick Mexican salad of finely chopped romaine and mustard lettuce(from the garden), canned corn, canned black beans, thinly sliced red onions, chopped cherry tomatoes, salad dressing with sour cream to top it off.
