Jharay

Jharay is a ritual performed on a person who has maljou. See Maljou.

Salt, garlic skin, onion skin, hot pepper or a cocoyea broom is used by the person performing the ritual, usually a pundit or elder. The item or items used are circled around the person 5 or 9 times, while a prayer is recited, and then discarded (salt is washed away in the sink).
