Saheena is a deep-fried fritter made with spinach or dasheen leaves, ground split peas powder, fresh seasonings, and flour.
There are two types in Trinidad, the primary and most common type is where the spinach/dasheen is mixed into the batter and the second type is where the whole dasheen leaves are pasted with a split peas batter, rolled, cut into slices and individually deep fried.
