Sorrel

Sorrel, which is also known as ‘Roselle’, is a  species of the Hibiscus plant. The flower petals are steeped overnight in boiling water which has been infused with warm spices including cinnamon, cloves, and sometimes ginger. This beverage is popular around Christmas time.

The plant, fruit, and beverage are all referred to as ‘Sorrel’.
