Ingredients you will need for this creamy garlic chicken pasta:
• 2 lbs chicken breast and/or boneless thigh, sliced, rinsed, drained
• 4 tablespoons extra virgin olive oil (EVOO)
• 4 tablespoons butter
• 1/2 small onion, diced
• 1 bunch parsley, minced
• Handful of garlic cloves, minced (about 9 cloves)
• 2-3 cups heavy cream
• 1/4 cup Parmesan cheese, grated, or to taste
• 1 box of your favorite pasta(10-16 oz), boiled according to package instructions
How to cook creamy garlic chicken pasta in 5 steps?
- Boil pasta and drain.
- Cook onion, garlic and herbs.
- Add the chicken and cook for 5-7 mins.
- Stir in heavy cream and add the cooked pasta.
- Sprinkle on grated Parmesan cheese.
Tips and substitutions:
- Use any gluten-free pasta substitute to make this gluten-free.
- Use low-carb, keto, paleo, or high-protein, diabetic-friendly pasta for those options.
- Use shrimp or mixed seafood instead of chicken if you are a pescatarian or for seafood Fridays
- Use Mushroom instead of chicken for a vegetarian option
- Eliminate heavy cream and or parmesan for a lighter option, like I did in this recipe.

Creamy Garlic Chicken Pasta
Ingredients
- 2 lbs chicken breast and/or boneless thigh sliced, rinsed, drained
- 4 tablespoons extra virgin olive oil EVOO
- 4 tablespoons butter
- 1/2 small onion diced
- 1 bunch parsley minced
- 9 garlic cloves handful, minced
- 2 cups heavy cream or more for creamier texture
- 1/4 cup Parmesan cheese grated, or to taste
- 1 lb pasta boiled according to package instructions
Instructions
- Boil pasta according to package instructions. Drain and set aside.
- In a wide skillet, heat butter and olive oil.
- Add the onion, minced garlic and parsley to the skillet and sauté for a minute or two until it becomes fragrant and the edges become golden brown.
- Add the chicken to the skillet and toss ensuring that the chicken is evenly coated. Season with salt and pepper—keep in mind that the cheese also contains salt. Cook for 5-7 minutes until the chicken is almost fully cooked.
- Pour in the heavy cream, stirring gently to combine all the ingredients. Allow the cream to simmer and thicken slightly, about 2 mins.
- Add the cooked pasta to the skillet and stir well to combine.
- Sprinkle the grated Parmesan cheese over the pasta and continue to cook, stirring occasionally, until the cheese has melted and the sauce has reached your desired consistency.
- Once the pasta is heated through and the sauce is creamy and luxurious, remove the skillet from the heat.
