The dhoti is a long piece of cloth traditionally worn by Hindu men, wrapped around the waist and legs. In Trinidad, the dhoti is primarily worn during religious events and by pundits (Hindu priests) during pujas. The garment reflects the Indian heritage of the Indo-Trinidadian community.
