Ingredients
- 1 1/2 pounds steak rib eye, flank or sirloin
- 1/2 cup soy sauce divided
- 2 tbs minced garlic divided
- 1 tbs ginger minced, divided
- 1 tbs green seasoning
- 1 tbs sesame oil
- 1 tbs cornstarch optional
- 1 1/2 tsp baking soda
- 1 lb broccoli florets
- 1 large red bell pepper large diced
- 1 onion sliced
- 1 carrot cut diagonally
- 4 scallions chopped
- 3 tbs sugar
- 1 tbs sesame oil
Instructions
- Slice steak thinly. In a small bowl mix 6 tbs soy sauce, sugar, 1 tablespoon minced garlic and 1 tbs ginger, sesame oil and cornstarch(if using). Set this mixture aside.
- Season steak with 2 tbs soy sauce, 1 tbs minced garlic, 1 tbs minced ginger, 1 1/2 tsp baking soda and green seasoning
- Next, blanch or steam the broccoli and carrots until they’re crisp tender. Drain and set them aside.
- Heat oil in a wide saucepan or wok over high heat, add 1/2 beef and sear/stir fry until fully cooked. Move to a plate and repeat with the remaining beef. Set aside.
- Add more oil to the pan, and stir fry the broccoli, carrots, bell pepper, onion and scallion on high for about for 3 mins. Then pour in soy sauce mixture and stir everything together.
- Add the cooked beef back into the pan and stir well to combine.
